Trinasolar delivers 1.3GW Vertex N modules for a solar-storage plant in desert region
    2025.04.21

A 1.3 GW solar-storage power station in northwestern China has been connected to the grid. The plant, using Trinasolar's Vertex N modules with high power output and reliability, is expected to generate 2.1 billion kWh of clean electricity a year, saving 620,000 tons of standard coal and reducing CO2 emissions by 1.61 million tons. This milestone once again underscores Trinasolar's efforts to advance sustainability and accelerate global energy transition.

Desertification has long held back economic development and compromised the environment of many regions. Utility-scale solar plants ensure that abundant solar resources in such areas are effectively and efficiently harnessed and that desert resources are used in a way that helps promote environmental protection.

Trinasolar's high-performance products for desert, including the Gobi and other arid regions, including Trinasolar's modules, trackers and energy storage, features lower LCOE, high resistance to sandstorms, high reliability and high operational efficiency.

Over the years Trinasolar, a global leader in smart PV and energy storage, has been at the forefront of worldwide efforts to unleash the power of the desert and other arid regions with its advanced products, transforming these places into solar power generators.

    • Trinasolar's Vertex N 700W+ modules power the Jubail 3A desalination plant in Saudi Arabia, accounting for 20% of its daily energy use.
    • TrinaTracker supplied 2,618 sets of Vanguard-2P trackers to the Navoi Power Station, the first large-scale PV power station in Uzbekistan, by creating jobs locally and strengthening the local economy.
    • A 120MW PV plant using TrinaTracker's Vanguard 2P in Dunhuang, Gansu province, northern China, has greatly benefited the region economically, environmentally and socially.
    • A 380MW plant in the desert in Gonghe, Qinghai province, using Trinasolar's 210mm high-efficiency modules and Vanguard 2P smart trackers was connected to the grid in November.
    • The 100MW Ulan Buh Desert Management, Energy Storage and PV Project in Alxa League, Inner Mongolia, uses Vertex modules and a 30MW/60MWh energy storage system powered by Trinasolar, ensuring stable supply and efficient use of electricity in the region.
